I made this cartoon of a woman holding a bouquet of pink roses and roses falling from the sky as both preserving something sentimental to me and an act of keeping my promise to myself that I would continue creating animations. This animation is very simple intentionally. My focus was on completion and capturing just enough of the feeling I wanted the cartoon to embody without adding complexity. Similar to lifting the light weights in the gym when you're out of the habit, creating this animation was a way to build up my own habits and stretch my animation muscles while keeping the project light and airy.
Happy New Year! I made this animation today. I drew the sun, earth, and text and saved them as png files with transparent backgrounds. Then, I imported them into my animation software and placed them on different layers. I put the earth and the words on motion paths to capture the movement of my little toon.
This is an animation of a cat that I did in Photoshop and Animate. There were a few frames I didn't use, but I decided to not be too precious with it, and post it instead of extending the process. A good practice in enjoying the project and then letting go when I was at a good stage of completion.
In this video I'm drawing a rose in pencil at 3x speed. This was also my first time editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, and I used music from Pixabay. I hope it makes for a relaxing watch.
